Commentary

The play starts with priest's special longpoint being besieged by halpschilt. This happens if the priest tried to close in the grappling distance by priest's special longpoint, but the scholar stepped back and immediatelly struck him.

The recommended reaction is falling under, to which the scholar will react by rebind, which is the same as in the first play. But this time, followup will be different. The play of binder and the bound is mentioned, which probably means that the priest started to perform a reaction that was leaving the bind.

The scholar then performs a useful strike - he thrusts directly between the priest's sword and shield. This is a very functional strike, that works if the opponent left a gap between his weapons ... or the gap is there because he is in motion and never closed the weapons correctly.
