A basic guard, belonging to active guards group. It has both the shield and sword extended. The sword may aim towards the opponent, but also down or sideways.

Longpoint (langort) is said to be the most important one of all seven basic guards. It is the first and most important member of longpoint family. As such, it is important for binding. All the typical binding actions (like rebind, stichslack, mutatio gladii) are happening within this custodia.

Langort can also be used as a siege, because it can threaten the opponent with the tip of the sword while closing in. But in contrary to later medieval fencing systems, this is not a defining feature of I.33's longpoint.
