An act of hitting the opponent's hand or weapon with the shield. This is never done in order to harm, but rather in order to pin the opponent's hands at the place, thus creating an opening elsewhere. Schiltslac is typically (but not neccesarilly) followed by a thrust to head, in the place that the opponent can't defend because his hands are pinned elsewhere.
Schiltslack and strike is a recommended solution for binding above and on the right. It can also be used in some actions from binding below and on the left.
