Vidilpoge position seems to be rather a tricky guard. Possibly even a guard that the priest doesn't use, but he wants his students to know about it. Maybe it was a guard often used by common fencers.
In I.33, this position is introduced by a trick that leads into grabbing the opponent's sword.
