A simple play showing a stich (thrust) performed from binding below and on the right

Notice that we had the same situation in the first schutzen play, but there stichlack was performed; here only stich is used. This depends on when you react. If you react while the opponent still pushes down (ie. performing rebind), you can safely escape without the need to control his hands, because he will continue in the direction he is pushing, which is not towards you. The stich action here is equivalent of cavazione motion - you escape the rebind with a small circle of the blade, down and to the left, and immediatelly continue with a thrust.
